Keira Bell and others have taken their concerns to court, which in Bell’s case has resulted in the upending of the lax medical transgender practises in the U.K. Money is the one factor that doctors and clinics understand. A court challenge and it’s publicity, especially one where a child’s breasts have been cut off might shock the politicians and public into action. Waiting for the Canadian medical community to voluntarily develop true clinical standards of practise will take years to complete. Banning the use of puberty blockers in children would be a start.
